About the platform

Artivism was founded by the artist and curator Alexandra Mas, together with Dr. Marco Tassini and Peter Hopkins of the SHIM Art Network. It brings together artists, collectors, scientists and institutions around one question: what can art do for the planet and for the people on it?

Since 2020 the Artivism Awards have taken place in Venice during the Biennale. Diana Hohenthal has been part of the project as co-organizer and curator, and has brought Artivism to Berlin. Part of the proceeds from each edition goes to environmental causes, such as seagrass restoration and marine research.
